MEET DR. Ravichandra Juluri
A Periodontist and an Educator
Dr. Juluri is a Periodontist and an educator with over two decades of experience in dentistry. He is a third-generation health-care professional. He specializes in Periodontics and Implantology, and has been involved in teaching, research and private practice.
Dr. Juluri obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Sri Ramachandra Dental College and Hospital, Chennai, India in 2000. He then worked as a general dental practitioner in Chennai for six months, before moving to Nepal to serve as a dental surgeon and instructor at the College of Medical Sciences, Bharatpur. He taught undergraduate medical students and provided dental care to the local community.
In 2003, Dr. Juluri moved to the United States and volunteered as a dental assistant in New York. He gained valuable exposure to the American dental system which prepared him for his dental education. In 2005, he was accepted into Temple University Dental School for Advanced Education in Periodontology and Dental Implants. In 2008, he also completed a Masters in Oral Biology at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA and joined the faculty of Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, Nashville, TN as an assistant professor in the Department of Periodontics. He later became the director of oral implantology and established the implant clinic at the school. He was involved in teaching, research, and clinical supervision of postgraduate and undergraduate students. He also maintained a private practice in Nashville, focusing on Periodontics and Implant dentistry.
In 2012, Dr. Juluri relocated to Illinois and joined a private practice in (Peoria)Dunlap, Illinois. He has been providing comprehensive Periodontal and Implant care to his patients since then. He was also a clinical supervising dentist at the dental hygiene program of Illinois Central College in Peoria, Illinois. He has been teaching and mentoring dental hygiene students since 2013. In addition, he is a Periodontist and a faculty member at the OSF Hospital General Practice Residency program in Peoria, Illinois. Furthermore, he is an adjunct faculty at the Department of Periodontics and Implantology at DY. Patil Dental College in Pune, India. He has been teaching and lecturing postgraduate students in periodontics and implantology since 2021. Dr. Juluri became certified to offer the FDA approved Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP) in 2023.
Dr. Juluri is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the Midwest Society of Periodontics, and the Illinois Society of Periodontists. He served as a member of committee for Dental benefits at the ADA meeting in 2021. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at national and international conferences*1. He has also received several awards and honors for his academic and clinical excellence such as Fellowship in PFA Academy and International College of Dentists.
Dr. Juluri is passionate about Periodontics and Implantology and strives to provide the highest quality of care to his patients that also led him to design few Dental instruments. A notable instrument to his credit are Elevators for gum grafting (VT6 and VT7, manufactured by Power Dental Group*2). He is also committed to lifelong learning and teaching and enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with his students and colleagues.
Dr. Juluri enjoys spending time with his wife (Suha) and his twin children (Saanvi and Srihith) travelling, gardening and watching movies.

James W. Davis, D.M.D.
Dr. Davis served the Springfield area for 35 years. He opened Springfield Periodontics in September of 1986 and retired in 2022. Dr. Davis completed a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in Urbana Illinois. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from Southern Illinois University in 1980, graduating at the top of his class. His residency in Periodontics was completed at the University of Tennessee and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Memphis Tennessee. He had been in the practice of Periodontics in Springfield, Illinois since 1986.
Dr. Davis and his wife have four children, three son-in-laws, and seven grandchildren.
